A trade mission led jointly by the Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) and the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS) – comprising 15 Malaysian companies from the Entertainment & Media Sector – continued its success from previously organized Hong Kong Filmart, securing deals worth over US$ 41 million (RM 145 million) during the world’s largest audio-visual content market - MIPTV 2010 held from 12-16 April 2010 in Cannes, France. The 15 companies are: Animasia Studio Sdn Bhd, Backbone Entertainment Sdn Bhd, Cartoon4Kids Sdn Bhd, Ed-Online Sdn Bhd, Elite Animation Sdn Bhd, Inspidea Sdn Bhd, Just Mobile Sdn Bhd, Moon Fx Sdn Bhd, Nafalia Corporation Sdn Bhd, Peppermint Productions Sdn Bhd, Primeworks Studios Sdn Bhd, Total Sports Asia Sdn Bhd, Worldwide Rights Corporation Sdn Bhd, Vision Animation Sdn Bhd and Young Jump Animation Sdn Bhd.

ASIANS TO WOW AUDIENCES WITH WORLD-CLASS CGI MAGIC @ MIPTV 2010!
Cannes, France, 15 April 2010 – Leaders in the field of Computer Arts & Graphics from Asia were taking the MIPTV 2010 by storm when design and animation giant, IMAGIMAX from Thailand signed a lucrative deal with Elite Animation, a MSC-status company from Malaysia.
“The joint-production will benefit both countries taking effort to proof to the world in producing high quality feature animations. We’d like to prove to the film makers that Asians can really produce too”, said Honorable Senator Datin Paduka Datuk Nor Hayati binte Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Hj Onn, the Executive Chairman to Elite Animation. “We’ve had serious discussions held now to identify quality content that suits global screening.” Mr Mohamed Tiar Sharif, the MD-CEO of Elite Animation, believes that the collaborations among both entities will bring the movie to greater heights with the years of experience that IMAGIMAX has in CGI technique. “MDeC is strongly behind us with a USD$1.5 Million (RM5 Million) funding”, said Mr Tiar.

Malaysia's fledging creative content industry gets a shot in the arm with the opening of a high performance cloud rendering facility by the Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC), the custodian of the MSC Malaysia initiative.
MDeC partnered with IBM to develop a rendering cloud infrastructure comprising IBM's innovative hardware, software, and cloud computing and consulting services.

MALAYSIAN ENTITY OPENS DOORS TO THE WORLD WITH CO-PRODUCTIONS @ MIPTV 2010!
Cannes, France, 13 April 2010 – A milestone was cemented with the signing ceremony between Q-plex Communication Sdn Bhd and Everest International Distribution. The two parties signed a licensed distribution agreement for the region of America, Europe, Africa and the Middle East regions.
“I'm very excited at the collaboration plans with Jon and Everest. They are a large media group with 11 TV channels in the US, Europe and Turkey too. Having them onboard will take our titles to greater heights and reaching out to more audiences worldwide.”, said Mr Mohamed Tiar Sharif, MD-CEO of Q-plex Communication Sdn Bhd and Elite Animation Sdn Bhd. “In fact, plans are already being discussed for joint-production projects in documentaries, dramas and animation series.”
